Talladega Nights: Thumbs Down

I just saw Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby tonight. I must say, it was a very offending movie. I admit I was laughing at some of the scenes in the movie, but many of the jokes were taken way too far. Here are a couple comments I heard from other viewer in the theater with me:

"I will never watch another Will Farrell movie for the rest of my life."

"I feel absolutely disgusting right now."

Need I say more.

What do you expect from Hollywood?
Even the movie rating system is all
f---ed up! I suggest you access movie info from a Christian source. I recall taking someone from youth group to a movie. I was told that he checked out the rating and got parental approval to go. When the movie started, the scenes started to go "downhill" from there...all the way down below the belly button, if you know what I mean. At that point, I asked, "Are you sure you checked the rating?" I know now that I have to do my own homework when it comes to checking out movie ratings. WELL, when I felt that the film had no redeeming social value, I walked out practically yanking the kid out of his seat, went to the manager, and told her that I found the film to be offensive and demanded my money back...and got it, no questions asked. You have the same right to walk out and demand your money back. You also have the right to stay and watch it.
Watching a bad movie is like stepping in dog sh_t. Images can linger in the mind just as smell can linger even after you wipe your shoes. As followers of Christ we are expected to be more than clean...we are to be holy
